Happy Holidays from the Cold Mountains of the West.

Happy Holidays from the Cold Mountains of the West.

I wanted to thank everyone that made it to any of the shows that we did across the United States this year. It was an incredibly (as it always is) life changing experience to see, feel, do, listen and BE. The travel can creep under your skin after awhile, but this “go-around” was anything but unpleasant.

I just wanted to tell everyone that we are selling our VINYL of The Sun Is Always Brighter (2006) for $10.00 plus a small shipping fee this year through February 1st. The Album is on 180 gram black vinyl, and comes with a 7″ of “Lovers without Love” and “Winter Storm”.  You’ll also receive an instant download of all the songs in your choice of digital format.

And for a stocking stuffer in the spirit of the holidays, here’s a download for 3 Xmas tunes to enjoy this holiday season:

ALSO! My good friend “Lex Land” just released a free Christmas Single that she recorded in Austin, TX. Have your hearts melted with it by downloading it FREE! Right here:

I hope that all is well in your home, in your heart.

Big Tour Announcement!!! U N I T E D S T A T E S…

Posted: by admin | No Comments »

Well, shiver me timbers, we have lift-off. In a rather soon amount of time, Joshua and crew will be headed out across the U. S. of A. for close to 40 shows out there in the wild corners and city streets from sea to shining sea. Joining Mr. James for this tour will be the fine artists and co-headliners of the gang known as Honey Honey. We’ve gone out of our way to make this tour extra special and affordable, as we know times are tough out there. The news is a bummer these days. But, alas, a great night of music can certainly help to recharge the internal batteries.

We have named this adventure the “Ten Buck Tour” in light of the fact that all dates are $10.00 or less in some cases. Ten Bucks for a great night of music from two compelling bands on the brink. It’s a way for us to say thanks for the support over the years, and to serve as an incentive for you to convince your buds to get off the couch and put down the Wii for a night and join you good people who are already inspired.

Dates are posted here on Joshua’s website, and also on the fancy tour website we created specifically for the “Ten Buck Tour

An update….

We have neglected this particular section of the world wide web dedicated to the trials and tribulations of Joshua James.  It should be noted however, that there are plenty of utterances and observations being posted in a timely fashion on Joshua’s more “lifestyle” – “artsy” – “for the heck of it” blog alive and well at: http://willamettemountain.tumblr.com/

Joshua has gathered a bastion of songs together and plans are afoot.  In August, Joshua will start his 3rd record with Richard Swift driving the controls and knobs as Producer / Mentor / Collaborator / etc.  Excited.  On top of that, a Fall tour is being charted throughout the United States.  It will be a joint adventure with the band: Honey, Honey.  It will start in late September and run through November.

We’d just like you fine folks to know that the engines are fired up and the time for quiet contemplation, recharging internal batteries, etc is now coming to a close.  It’s going to be a fine, fine, record.  (I’ve heard the demos)  And it will surely be good to see the faces out there on the road.  It’s “go” time.  (a favorite phrase of a former drummer of mine years ago in a past life)

Shannon.

Sing Songs EP out today!!! Mid-West tour March 3-12th.

A note from Joshua:

“I (as of late) have been receiving many emails/letters from folks that have been wanting to buy/receive the “outtakes/b-sides” to the last release BUILD ME THIS. The B-Sides collection is entitled “Sing Songs” and has been available only physically as the 4th side to the double vinyl album version of Build Me this. I have heard from many folks that this is not a viable option.

After much thought, we (the JJ team) have decided to make it available digitally as well, as to let those who want it in that medium..have it. And so it arrives this Tuesday, FEBRUARY 22ND, on iTunes, etc,

A much needed cold front has swept over the valley that sits below the majestic Wasatch Mountain Front. The past week has brought a wave of startling events into my life, and though it might not concern you (for concern leads to stress, and stress leads to death, BUT! since we are all heading into that VOID together let me STRESS you), i wanted to share. Maybe as a coping mechanism, maybe as a narcissistic creature, i don’t know. But either way, i am in a TELLING MOOD.

My Grandfather passed away during the last week in January of this year. It was sudden, and fortunately, didn’t leave him with too much time to SUFFER. Family/Friends gathered to show respect/love/admiration to the life and death of the great man (Garth A. James). Two days after (though to some might sound of little consequence) my dog of 4 years disappeared. We have yet to find him. That week was hard, really hard.

Life is, well…life. I don’t have to (nor can i) explain it. We all deal with death, we all enjoy/experience pain/sorrow/suffering. We are ALL in this dreamscape of mystery and miracle together. I wanted to share. And there it is.

Friends/Fellows.
This..this confusing existence is a beautiful MESS. Thank you for everything (support, friendship) and until death we will be TOGETHER, and if it is, that we should live even AFTER THAT, well, then,
SO BE IT!

yours (internally and more)
joshua f. james

Joshua singing on “Sons of Anarchy” premiere tonight Sept 7th on FX!!!

Posted: by admin | 1 Comment »

Set your digital recorder things or tune in tonight, September 7th at 10:00 PM to the FX Network for the Season 3 premiere of “Sons of Anarchy”.  Joshua was asked by the music folks at “Sons of Anarchy” to sing a cover of Herman’s Hermits, “No Milk Today” that will roll throughout the opening montage of the premiere.  The song sounds pretty darn cool and we hear the video edit for the sequence is quite stimulating.  There is basically no dialog and just a montage of scenes with Joshua’s eerie version of “No Milk Today” playing over top of the videos.  Tune in tonight to check it out!
